Our story
A family textile business from near Delhi, and a love of well-set tables.

North India Company makes gilded placemats and table runners for people who love a beautiful table and would rather not iron one.
Where we come from
We are a family business from Ghaziabad, just outside Delhi, where our family has worked in textiles for more than twenty years, supplying linen to hotels. Two decades of hotel tables teach you what a well-set table does for a room, and how much work linen can be.
North India Company is our answer to that: pieces that look like a banquet and clean up with a damp cloth.
Why the names
Every design takes its name from North India's palaces, gardens and crafts. Sheesh Mahal for inlaid palace walls, Jaal for the stone lattice of Mughal windows, Zari for the gold thread of royal embroidery, Chinar for the great trees of Kashmir. They are names we grew up with, and we like the idea of them on tables in Toronto and Texas. You can read the story behind each one in our journal.
What we believe
Royal to look at, easy to live with. A table should feel like an occasion, even on a Tuesday. It shouldn't take an evening of washing and ironing afterwards.
Honest about materials. Our pieces are vinyl, and we say so. We choose designs for how they look by candlelight and how they wipe clean the morning after.
