Keep your placemats and runners bright for years.
Our placemats and runners are vinyl with a pressed metallic finish. Look after them like this and they will stay bright for years of dinners.
Every day
- Wipe with a soft cloth, warm water and a drop of mild dish soap.
- Dry with a soft towel to prevent water spots on the metallic finish.
- Shake crumbs from openwork designs, or brush gently with a soft brush.
Please avoid
- Dishwashers, washing machines, dryers and irons.
- Scouring pads, bleach, solvents and abrasive cleaners.
- Folding or rolling, which can crease the pressed pattern.
- Long periods in direct sun or near heaters.
Heat and flame
- Set hot pans and serving dishes on a trivet, never directly on the vinyl.
- Keep candles, diyas and other open flames in holders or on trays, away from placemats and runners.
Storage
- Store flat and stacked, somewhere cool and dry.
- If a piece arrives with a slight curl from packing, lay it flat and it will usually settle.
Openwork designs
Jaal Leaf Lace, Noor Lace, Nishat Garden, and the Chatai Weave and Pankha Leaf runners have openwork patterns. Spills pass through to the table, so wipe the surface underneath as well.
When it's time to replace one
Vinyl (PVC, resin code 3) is not accepted by most curbside recycling programs. Please check your local rules before putting it in a recycling bin.
